Data policy

This page gives you an overview of what data we are collecting, storing and processing when you are registering on our pages, downloading files or using our products.

Registration

What data are we collecting?

There are two ways to register on our pages. Either via our own registration or via your LinkedIn account. The data stored differs depending on what method you are choosing.

Registration via Simis registration

When you register normally on our pages, we are storing all the data you provide in the registration process. That is:

E-mail address
Password (encrypted and not readable)
Firstname
Lastname (if provided)

Registration via LinkedIn

When registering via your LinkedIn account we are storing an unique identifier provided by LinkedIn in order to connect your account on our pages to your LinkedIn account. Moreover, we are requesting and storing the following data from LinkedIn:

E-mail address
Firstname
Lastname
Number of connections on LinkedIn
Your profile picture URL (Uniform Resource Locator)

Other data stored

Independent of the registration method you are choosing, we are also storing the following data:

IP address (used when registering)
Operating system
Date and time of registration

Note: all this data is only stored if you successfully register. If you decide to cancel the registration, none of the above mentioned data will be stored.

Who is using the data and how?

Downloads

What data are we collecting?

In order to keep track of how many persons are downloading what specific files and to analyse who is actively using our software, we are collecting the following data when you are downloading files from our pages:

User ID (if user is logged in)
IP address
Operating system
File being downloaded
Date and time

Using Ashes

What data are we collecting?

In order to keep track of how many users are actively using our software Ashes, we are collecting data each time you open the software. The following list gives you an overview of what data is collected.

Sending crash reports

What data are we collecting?

In order to improve our software, we are locally collecting data while you are using Ashes. This includes the software's debug log (internal information functions are writing) as well as an action log storing all actions you performed. With sending a crash report in case of a software crash, you agree to send us this information. The collected information may contain pathes of files and directories on your local system. We assure that all information is only used internally and will not be shared with any third party.
