Linear springs

Linear springs in Ashes are applied on nodes and modeled as a support (see Keywords) with a stiffness (in N/m for translational springs and N/rad for rotational springs). When a spring is applied onto a node, the node will experience a load
$$L_i=K\cdot d_i$$

where
  • $$L_i$$
is the load (either a force or a moment) in the direction corresponding to the degree of freedom
    $$i$$

  • $$K$$
     is the spring stiffness
  • $$d_i$$
is the displacement of the node corresponding to the degree of freedom
    $$i$$
