Environment

The Environment part contains all the subparts and parameters related to the environmental conditions. In this part you can find the following subparts

In addition, the gravity can be modified in the Environment part, with the following parameters:

Gravity

Gravity scheme

The magnitude of the gravitational acceleration can be set as the standard gravity or to a user defined value.

Note that although the term gravitational acceleration is commonly used, it is more correct to talk about acceleration due to gravity. Gravity being a force, the acceleration due to gravity is the acceleration resulting from the action of gravity as described by Newton's second law.

Options:

Standard gravity (default):

The gravitational acceleration is set to the standard value of 9.80665

User defined:

The gravitational acceleration is set by you.

Gravitational acceleration (g)

Specify the magnitude of the gravitational acceleration. The gravity vector is assumed vertical.

  • Default value: 9.80665
  • Unit: ${\text{m}} \over {\text{s}^2}$
  • Range: 0 — 1000
