Pitch actuator sensors

The Pitch actuator sensor  can be added by clicking on the sensor icon on the Pitch actuator part, as shown in the picture below




The Pitch actuator sensor will only give an output if the actuator mode is set to Pitch actuators. If the mode is set to No structural pitch, the structure of the blade will not pitch and the sensor will only output zeroes. For more info, see the  Pitch actuators part.

The Pitch actuators sensor provides the following fields:
Field Unit Description
Demanded pitch deg Pitch angle demanded by the controller, before the pitch actuator dynamics are applied
Pitch angle deg Actual structural pitch angle of the blade, after the pitch actuator dynamics are applied
Pitch error deg the difference bewteen the structural pitch and the aerodynamic pitch for blades 0, 1 and 2, respectively
Demanded torque Nm Pitching torque demanded by the pitch actuator at the current time step
P term Nm Proportional term of the pitch actuator's PID controller
I term Nm Integral term of the pitch actuator's PID controller
D term Nm Derivative term of the pitch actuator's PID controller
