Batch manager

Using the batch analysis functionality, several time simulations can be conducted within a single batch. The batch can be run on the local computer or on the cloud servers provided by Simis. This video illustrates how to use the batch manager: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsJHNAUcgmo 

The batch manager can be opened from the Simulation window by pressing the Batch manager button shown in the figure below.

1 User interface 

When opening the batch analysis, the following view will be displayed. All batches that have been created or opened on the local computer or are saved in the cloud and related to the user account used are displayed here. This section describes the elements marked. 


  1. The type of the cloud run. 
    Batch that is running on the local computer (local batch)
    Batch that is running on the Simis cloud servers (cloud batch)  
  2. The name of the batch run. Click on the name to open the batch in the Batch window.
  3. The status of the batch run. See the table below for more detailed descriptions.
    StatusDescription
    Loading...The batch is being loaded and cannot yet be accessed.
    Not started
    The batch has been created but not been started yet.
    hh:mm:ss remainingThe batch is running and the time shown is the estimated time remaining until it is completed.
    Paused
    The batch run is paused and can be continued by clicking on play.
    Completed
    The batch run has been successfully completed. The results can be accessed now and the batch can also be rerun.
    Aborted
    The batch run was aborted by the user.
    Failed
    The batch run has failed. A description of the error can be found in the log file in the results folder.
    Submitted (ready to start)The batch has been submitted to the cloud server and can be started on the Simis cloud now.
    Pending...The batch run has been started on the cloud server but is waiting for the computing nodes to be available.
    QueuedThe batch run has been started on the cloud server but no nodes are available. Hence, the batch run was queued to be executed next.
  4. The date and time when the batch was last modified. 
  5. Actions that can be performed on the respective batch.
    Starts the batch run.
    Pauses the batch run.
    Stops the batch run.
    Runs the batch another time.
  6. Creates a clone of the currently selected batch and asks for a new name. 
  7. Removes the selected batches. Only batches that are not running can be removed. 
  8. Creates a new batch and asks for a name. This will open the Batch window.
  9. Opens a batch file and adds the batch to the batches list. This feature has been discontinued.
  10. Import a batch from a CSV file (comma-separated-list). Note: The file must have a proper format. This will open the Batch window. To find out about the format, please export a batch to CSV-file first.
